Free Drop-In Programs for Young Children at the Chestermere Library

Looking for something fun (and free!) to do with your little ones? The Chestermere Public Library has you covered. Whether your child is a brand-new baby or a busy preschooler, the Library offers a lineup of weekly drop-in programs designed for families with children under 6. No registration, no stress, just show up and join the fun.

Here’s what’s happening:

Storytime

Tuesdays & Thursdays | 10:15–10:45 AM | All Ages
Stories, rhymes, and a cozy atmosphere—what’s not to love? Storytime is perfect for introducing kids to the magic of books while helping them build early speech and language skills. Plus, it’s a great way to meet other parents and caregivers.

Playdate

Tuesdays | 10:45–11:45 AM | Ages 0–5
After Storytime, stick around for Playdate. Toys, snacks, and coffee? Yes, please. Your kids can play and make new friends while you connect with other parents.

Wee Groove

Wednesdays | 10:15–11:00 AM | Ages 0–5
If your little one loves to move, this one’s a hit. Dancing, instruments, and movement activities make Wee Groove a fun way to burn some energy and explore music.

Baby Storytime

Fridays | 10:15–10:45 AM | Ages 0–23 Months
Designed just for babies, this program includes songs, rhymes, stories, and playtime. It’s also a great way to meet other new parents who are at the same stage as you. Stick around afterwards for “Bibs, Burps, and Breaks.”

Bibs, Burps, and Breaks

Fridays | 10:45–11:15 AM | Ages 0–23 Months
This one’s all about connection. Parents and caregivers can relax and chat while the babies enjoy some playtime. The Library provides the toys; you bring the cuteness.

Storytime at Home (On YouTube)

Can’t make it in person? No problem. The Chestermere Library has storytime videos on its YouTube channel, presented by different staff members. Perfect for rainy days or cozy couch mornings. Watch anytime at Chestermere Public Library on YouTube.

Whether you’re looking to get out of the house, meet other families, or give your kids a head start on a love of books, the Chestermere Library is the place to be. The best part? All programs are free and drop-in friendly, no registration required.
