Chestermere Loop the Lake Run Returns for a Full Day of Family Fun

If you’re looking for something active, social, and just a little bit brag-worthy, the Chestermere Loop the Lake Run is back on Sunday, April 19, 2026, and it’s shaping up to be one of those “everyone comes out” kind of days.

This isn’t just for hardcore runners chasing a personal best. With distances ranging from a 1K kids run to a half-marathon, it’s built for the whole crew. Whether your kid wants to sprint their heart out, you’re aiming for a casual 5K, or someone in the family is eyeing that 21K challenge, there’s a spot for everyone at the starting line.

Race day keeps things simple. Package pickup happens right at the start area; just make sure you show up at least an hour before your wave. And yes, you can still register in person if you’re making a last-minute call, though online registration closes April 17 at midnight.

What you get is more than just a run. Participants score a finisher tech T-shirt (if you register before April 15), a race bib, and, for the kids, a medal they’ll absolutely wear for the rest of the day. The course is supported with four well-stocked aid stations, and timing is handled with RFID chips so you can check your results without guessing.

Then there’s the part everyone secretly signs up for, the finish line. Expect a beach party vibe with lunch, Cinnzeo rolls, and plenty of snacks waiting. It’s the kind of setup where runners recover and families hang out, cheer, and soak up the atmosphere together.

Pricing starts at $25 for the kids run, with 5K, 10K, and 21K distances available up to $99. Not bad for a full morning of fresh air, movement, and a built-in excuse to eat cinnamon rolls guilt-free.
