Winter in Chestermere isn’t complete without hitting the ice, and the city makes it easy for locals to enjoy outdoor skating. From neighbourhood rinks to skating on the lake, there are plenty of ways to embrace some frosty fun.
Skating on The Lake
City Parks staff clear a rink and path when conditions allow. Always check weekly ice depth updates, skate at your own risk! Weekday maintenance keeps ice, pathways, and seating ready. Any maintenance issues may be reported to the City Parks Team at (403) 207-2807.

Outdoor Rink Rules
Children under 12 should skate with an adult.
Helmets and padding recommended.
No smoking or controlled substances.
Rinks are unsupervised and not plowed on weekends/holidays.

Langdon Outdoor Rink – Located at the Langdon Field House. This is a great nearby option for families looking to skate outside of Chestermere. Ice conditions, hours, and maintenance details are managed separately, so be sure to check Langdon’s official rink information before heading out.
