Free Summer Programs in Chestermere & Langdon: Fun, Connection, and Mental Wellness for Local Families

Looking to keep the kids busy this summer without breaking the bank? Rocky View Schools (RVS) has your back with a lineup of free summer programming for families in Chestermere, Langdon, and surrounding areas.

Offered through the RVS Mental Health Capacity Building (MHCB) initiative, these universal programs are designed to support emotional wellness, creativity, and connection, all while giving kids and parents a chance to have fun, meet others, and recharge. Best of all? You don’t have to attend an RVS school to join in.

CHESTERMERE PROGRAMS

Mindful Makers (Ages 10–14)

A creative art program that helps kids explore emotions and resilience through hands-on expressive arts and storytelling. Great for helping pre-teens de-stress, open up, and connect with others.

Who Owl You? Family Pottery Class (All Ages)

A two-day guided pottery painting workshop that mixes mindfulness with creativity. Expect laughter, learning, and some cool owl art to bring home.

Calm and Create: Movement and Mindfulness (All Ages)

Mandala bird feeders & gentle yoga = a peaceful morning at the park. A great option for winding down and tuning in with your kiddos.

Wellness Wednesdays (All Ages)

Drop by for themed activities focused on wellness, mental health, life skills, and fun. Every week brings something new—from mindful movement to expressive art and local resources.

Mindfulness in the Park – Chalk About Mental Health (All Ages)

Wrap up July with a playful afternoon of yard games, sidewalk chalk, community connection, and mental health resources—all in one chill spot.

LANGDON PROGRAMS

Mindful Readers (Ages 5–9)

A story-based program with books, art, movement and play that help young kids talk about feelings, build empathy, and express themselves in a fun and supportive environment.

Langdon Youth Drop-In (Ages 10–17)

This one’s just for the older kids. Drop-in style programming with group games and activities that build confidence, teamwork, and connection. It’s a great way to fight boredom and beat the “I’m lonely” blues.
