Celebrate Alberta Culture Days at Chestermere Library

The Chestermere Library is joining the province-wide celebration of Alberta Culture Days with a week of activities highlighting arts, culture, and community. From hands-on workshops to interactive performances, there’s something for every age group to enjoy. These programs are all free, but registration is required for some.

Faux Stained Glass Painting
Wednesday, September 17 | 5:15–6:15 PM or 6:45–7:45 PM | Adults 18+
Capture Alberta’s endless skies with a faux stained-glass painting project. Registration required, please choose only one time slot.

Puddle of Mud Productions: Triple Fun Show
Friday, September 19 | 4:00–4:45 PM | All ages
A “choose your own adventure” theatre performance where the audience directs the action, joins in the singing and dancing, and helps shape the story. Registration required.

Beadwork and Bannock
Sunday, September 21 | 12:15–4:15 PM | Adults 18+
With Rachelle from Boggy Creek Creations, participants will bead an orange shirt while learning the significance of Orange Shirt Day. The session also includes a bannock-making demonstration and ingredients to take home. Registration required.

Creative Foundations Soapstone Carving
Wednesday, September 24 | 5:15–7:45 PM | Adults & seniors
Discover the art of soapstone carving with Unique Soapstone Experiences and create your own sculpture. Registration required.

Métis Scavenger Hunt
Friday, September 26 | 3:00–4:00 PM | All ages
Trevor Ward, citizen representative of the Rockyview Métis District of the Otipemisiwak Métis Government, will guide participants in a nature-based scavenger hunt, sharing teachings about plants, objects, and cultural connections. No registration required.

Alberta Collage Craft
Friday, September 26 | 4:00–5:30 PM | All ages
Drop in to design an Alberta-themed collage with a variety of materials. Children 8 and under must be accompanied by an adult. No registration required.
