Is Now the Right Time to Book a Disney Vacation?
What Canadian Families Need to Know in 2025
By Jenn Mueller, Disney Vacation Travel Specialist
For many Canadian families, a Disney vacation is more than just a trip—it’s a milestone. But with travel costs on the rise, changing park systems, and the Canadian dollar always in flux, one question keeps coming up: Is now the right time to book?
If a Disney vacation is on your 2025 wishlist, booking sooner rather than later could be one of the smartest moves you make.
Disney pricing tends to increase at least once a year, and availability for the most popular dates—especially around school breaks and holidays—can fill up months in advance. That includes resort stays, park reservations, and hard-to-get dining reservations that really shape your experience.
What’s New & Exciting in 2025?
There’s a lot to look forward to next year, starting with Disneyland in California, which will be celebrating its 70th anniversary! Disney has already announced the return of the fan-favourite Paint the Night parade, and you can expect plenty of extra touches and magical surprises to honour the milestone. For families who’ve been waiting for the right time to visit the original Disney park, 2025 might just be it.
Over at Walt Disney World in Florida, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party tickets are already on sale—an early sign that fall travel will be busy and in-demand. If Halloween is your family’s favourite season, this after-hours event is a must-see, with trick-or-treating, exclusive entertainment, and rare character sightings.
And in terms of how the parks operate, there have been some big changes recently that are important to understand before you go. Walt Disney World has introduced the Lightning Lane Multi Pass, which replaces Genie+ and allows guests to pre-book ride times in advance. There’s also a new Premier Pass option that gives even more flexibility and access to top-demand attractions.
The good news? These systems can help maximize your time in the parks—but they do have a learning curve. I work closely with my clients to help them understand how to use these tools, including personalized walk-throughs, planning tips, and guidance on when and how to book their selections. I also assist with dining reservations, park reservations, and provide custom park guides tailored to your family’s priorities so you can feel confident before you even leave home.
Exclusive Offers for Canadian Families
If you're Canadian, 2025 brings some rare travel perks:
At Disneyland, an amazing Canadian Resident Ticket Offer is available through the end of the year—giving families flexibility to choose travel dates that work best for them. It’s available for 3, 4 and 5 day ticket lengths. It’s one of the longest ticket promos Disney has run in years.
At Walt Disney World, we’re seeing broad seasonal promotions throughout the year, including discounts on resort stays and special offers for select vacation packages.
Disney Cruise Line continues to release Canadian resident rates on select sailings, which is perfect if you’re dreaming of a more relaxing kind of Disney magic at sea.
So… Should You Start Planning?
If a Disney vacation is on your radar for 2025, it’s worth starting the conversation now. Locking in pricing, securing ideal travel dates, and getting a head start on planning around Disney’s updated systems can make the experience smoother—and a lot more fun.
And just so you know—my planning services are completely complimentary for families booking packages or multi-day tickets through me. That means you’ll get expert guidance, customized support, and ongoing help with everything from picking the right resort to making sure you’re in the right park on the right day—all at no extra cost to you.
Planning can be part of the magic too—and I’d be honoured to help make your next Disney vacation unforgettable.
