The Purple Galaxy Pass: One Small Step for a Kid, One Giant Leap for Curiosity

Free One-Year Pass to TELUS Spark for Grade 7 Students

What if one pass could launch a lifelong love of science? That’s the idea behind the Purple Galaxy Pass, a bold and generous initiative powered by TELUS and TELUS Spark. Starting August 2025, every Grade 7 student in Calgary and surrounding areas, including students from Rocky View Schools, Calgary Catholic School District and the Siksika, Kainai, Piikani, Tsuut’ina, and Stoney Nakoda Nations, can score a full year of free admission to Spark’s hands-on galleries, dome films, science demos, and creative labs.

Yes, free. No catches, no fine print. Just science-fuelled fun for a full year.

So, why Grade 7? It’s the age when kids are asking big questions and dreaming up bigger ideas. It’s a time when curiosity spikes, attention spans stretch (a little), and the world starts to feel a lot bigger. The Purple Galaxy Pass meets that moment with open doors and open minds, connecting young explorers to STEAM: Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math. This isn’t about memorizing facts. It’s about doing, building, tinkering, and experimenting in a space built for it.

The pass includes unlimited general admission from August 2025 through August 2026, access to everything from live science shows to immersive dome theatre experiences, and even a discounted guest ticket every month (because let’s be honest, science is better with a buddy). As a bonus, there's a special youth membership rate offered the following year if your kid is hooked, and chances are, they will be.

How to get it? In August, just head to TELUS Spark with your Grade 7 student, a parent or guardian, and a little proof, like a report card, school ID, or a signed letter from a school official. Fill out a short form, sit through a quick video orientation, and walk out with a Purple Galaxy Pass in hand and a year’s worth of curiosity unlocked.

For families, this pass is more than a fun outing; it’s a smart investment in your kid’s creativity, confidence, and critical thinking. And for kids, it’s a passport to a galaxy of possibilities, all year long.
