Drop In, Hang Out, or Get Some Homework Help at The Drop

Looking for a spot where your kid can just chill, have fun, and maybe even get a little help with school? The Drop has it all - and it’s completely free.

For youth aged 10 to 17, The Drop is a space to hang out with friends, play games, grab a snack, and connect with trained youth staff. Kids can come for just a little while or stay as long as they want. If your child is involved in sports at the Rec Centre, it’s a perfect pit stop before or after practice - or a place to wait if siblings are in a different session. The Drop runs every Tuesday and Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. on the second level of the Chestermere Rec Centre. (Head through the main south entrance, up the stairs, left at the top, through the double red doors, then the third door on the left - easy to find!)

And if homework is on the agenda, Thursdays get even better. Homework Helpers is a free drop-in tutoring service for students in grades 4 through 12, right at The Drop. There are tutors for all subjects, plus snacks, games, and support for mental health. It runs on Thursdays from 5 to 8 p.m. - a mix of learning and fun in a safe, welcoming space.

Whether it’s hanging out with friends or getting a little extra academic boost, The Drop is shaping up to be a favourite spot for local youth.
